#6 Princeton Shuts Out #2 Bryant in Scoreless Draw
October 21, 2025 | Men's Soccer
PRINCETON, N.J. – In a top-10 matchup, the #6 Princeton men's soccer team shut out #2 Bryant in a scoreless draw on Tuesday night in Roberts Stadium.
Andrew Samuels, making three saves in the match, earned the shutout for his ninth of the season.
"I thought we played well tonight against one of the top teams in the country. It felt like a playoff game and with a big crowd there was a fun atmosphere. Our team defending was strong and in the second half we felt in control." - Head Coach Jim Barlow
With the draw, #6 Princeton moves to 10-1-2 on the season, while Bryant moves to 13-0-2.
How It Happened
The Tigers started pressuring Bryant early, working their way up the field with Sam Vigilante taking a shot and forcing the first corner of the game in the eighth minute.
In the 25th minute, Bryant countered with a press of their own, earning two corners and forcing a save from Samuels on a curling shot towards the goal.
With the game going end-to-end, neither side was able to find a really solid chance and the first half expired scoreless.
Coming out of the break, it was Princeton on the attack as it earned two corners in the first two minutes. Daniel Ittycheria was able to take a shot that went just to the left of the goal, but the Tigers continued pressing as Ian Nunez Nunez sent a shot into the side netting.
Ittycheria, taking another two shots while continuing the attack, forced a save by Bryant keeper Enzo Cavalho before earning a corner in the 60th.
It looked as though the Tigers might get one in the 70th minute as Jack Jasinski served up a free kick where Frederik Sadjak headed it towards the net, but the shot was deflected by Carvalho.
Again in the 80th minute, Ittycheria headed the ball into the box, but Tyler Vilet couldn't get a foot on it to finish the shot.
Keeping control of possession and continuing to attack, Princeton looked sharp in the second half, thwarting each of Bryant's chances as the Bulldogs totaled four shots on the night.
With just a few minutes remaining, Hormozi again sent a shot just inches to the right of the goal as it looked like Princeton might win it late.
Roka Tsunehara, who had been solid all night on defense, pressed up and took a shot of his own in the 89th minute, but it was deflected and the 0-0 score stood final.
Despite the score line, the contest was one worthy of the top-10 designation as it was filled with dangerous looks and class defending, all set in front of a buzzing crowd in Roberts.
