Name: Morgan Sly
Team: Women's Hockey
Year: Senior
Major: Molecular Biology
High School: Bishop Strachan
Hometown: Collingwood, Ontario
Athletic Accomplishments:
A forward on the women's hockey team that won the 2016 Ivy League title and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, for just the second time in program history. Sly is a three-time ECAC All-Academic Team selection and currently has 40 career points to date.
Off the Field:
During the summer after her sophomore year, Sly was fortunate enough to be accepted to the Atlantic Project internship. She shadowed doctors in 15 different specialties and witnessed a total of 45 surgeries in two locations in Spain - all of which was conducted in Spanish. She also volunteered to teach physicians English lessons as part of the internship. Sly learned about the internship through posters around Princeton campus. It immediately caught her attention because of her love of travel and because she wanted to increase her experience in physician shadowing because her ultimate goal is to attend medical school.
Sly on Sly:
"To me, this service means using your passions to work towards a greater good for society. Princeton provides numerous opportunities for students to serve communities both locally and abroad. I have been fortunate enough to volunteer with the Student Health Advisory Board (SHAB) and Reading with the Tigers. Immersing myself in activities and service that I am passionate about has allowed me to give back to communities and grow as a person."
