Dan Bennett is the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, Facilities & Operations.

Dan returned to Princeton Athletics in 2011 after spending several years working within the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Pennsylvania as the Assistant Director of Recreational Facilities. Prior to Penn, he worked here at Princeton in a full-time capacity starting in 2006, serving as the Stephens Fitness Center Morning Manager and Personal Trainer. In the past, Dan has also held various positions at rehabilitation clinics and commercial gyms throughout the NJ-DE area.

As a senior member of the Campus Recreation staff, Dan continues to work with various committees across Campus Life and campus in general. Also, as an active member of National Intramural-Recreation Association (NIRSA), he has had opportunity to network with colleagues within higher education across the country while serving the association in different capacities such as a NJ State Director, on committees/working groups and co-leading a regional conference planning team. Dan was selected in 2023 to receive the NIRSA Region I Horace Moody Award for outstanding commitment to student development. The educational aspect of his role is extremely important to him and he has placed a particular focus upon the development of the student staff he has supervised here at Princeton and the many student interns (40+) has had mentored over the course of his years working in the field.
Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Studies from Rutgers University (Cook College). Dan and his wife Lisa currently reside in Mt. Laurel (NJ). They have two daughters (Camryn and Aubrey) and enjoy spending a majority of their free time with their close family, attending Philly sporting events and vacationing when possible.
