Brown Comes from Behind to Beat Baseball

Matt Scannell led Princeton hitters once again. He went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Nadir Lewis, Brendan Cumming and Kaden Kram also contributed an RBI this afternoon.
Seven different Tigers crossed home plate. Nick DiPietrantonio and Scannell led the way with a pair of runs scored. Cumming, Noah Granet, Lewis, Jackson Emus, and Jordan Kelly also tallied a run.
For the third time in the series, Princeton opened the scoring. With DiPietrantonio on third, Kram hit a sac fly to deep center field for a 1-0 Tiger lead.
Princeton blew the game open with seven runs in the third inning. A bases-loaded walk made it 2-0, then Scannell doubled that lead with a two-run single through the right side. A wild pitch allowed Lewis to score from third, a Brown fielding error plated two more runs, then Cumming capped off the inning with an RBI single to make it 8-0 Princeton.
Brown responded with a bases-loaded walk and a pair of RBI singles to make it 8-3 in the bottom of the third. A sac fly and an RBI single in the sixth inning cut Princeton's lead to three runs.
Princeton gained a small cushion with a wild pitch allowing DiPietrantonio to score to make it a 9-5 Princeton lead.
Unfortunately, Brown scored the game's final six runs, with five in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead, and one insurance run in the bottom of the eighth to take an 11-9 comeback victory.
Princeton closes out its non-conference schedule on Wednesday against Monmouth at 3 p.m.
