#2 Long Beach State Sweeps Volleyball

The second-ranked Long Beach State 49ers opened the Asics Invitational Friday morning with a 3-0 sweep of Princeton in The Thunderdome on the campus of UC-Santa Barbara. The Tigers, who again played without All-EIVA middle Junior Oboh, will return to the court tonight for a match against eighth-ranked Stanford at 8 pm PT.
LBSU, the highest-ranked of several Top-15 teams Princeton is scheduled to face early this season, had it rolling offensively Friday morning; the 49ers hit .542 and made only four errors in the match. The Tigers, who started five underclassmen in the match, could only manage a 45% sideout percentage during the match and simply couldn't keep pace with one the NCAA's top squads.
For the second straight match, George Huhmann led the Tigers in hitting (10 kills), while classmates Parker Dixon and Greg Luck both added three kills apiece. Freshman Joe Kelly had 10 assists in the match, while both Dixon and freshman libero Cade Keegan had five digs apiece.
