July 13, 2017 | Women's Lacrosse
Princeton women's lacrosse is pleased to announced the addition of Kerrin Maurer to the coaching staff.
A 2015 graduate of Duke University, Maurer has been an assistant coach at Mt. St. Mary's for the last two seasons.
"We're excited to welcome Kerrin Maurer to the Princeton lacrosse family," Princeton head coach Chris Sailer said. "Kerrin had a standout career at Duke, leading the team in scoring for four straight seasons and becoming the Blue Devils top draw specialist. For the past two years, she gained valuable coaching experience at Mount St. Mary's, where she honed her ability to teach the game and was involved in all facets of recruiting, scouting, and practice and game planning. We're eager for Kerrin to bring her passion, experience, knowledge, energy and work ethic to the Tigers. She understands what it takes to be a successful student-athlete at a place like Princeton and will be a great fit with our coaching staff and our players." Â
Â
A two-time All-America, Maurer graduated as the program's all-time leader in assists with 119. She ranks fifth all-time in ACC history in assists and was a three-time ACC selection. A three-time Tewaaraton Trophy nominee, Maurer graduated second in Duke history in career points with 280 and tied for fourth in career goals with 161, while finishing on a 47-game point scoring streak. Mauer helped the Blue Devils to four NCAA quarterfinal appearances, and reached the semifinals in 2015 after topping Princeton in the quarterfinals.
Â
Academically, Maurer was a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection and a three-year member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll, while earning her degree in political science.
Â
"I am very grateful for the opportunity to work at such a prestigious institution as Princeton University," Maurer said. "I am excited to work with Chris and Jenn in a program of great excellence as Princeton women's lacrosse. I look forward to working with an exceptional group of student-athletes that embody Princeton's standard of academic and athletic excellence."
Currently a member of Italy's national team, Maurer will be playing for the World Cup this summer.
On the club level, Maurer served as head coach of Long Island Express Lacrosse based out of Huntington, N.Y. in the summers since 2011. She has also gained experience working at camps in North Carolina, Michigan and New York.
A native of Setauket, N.Y., Maurer is completing her master's degree in sports management.
