UPDATE: Sophomore Adam Kelly will not advance to Eugene in the hammer throw. After the event concluded, Kelly was situated in 12th with a throw of 66.41 (217-10). Two throws by other throwers originally called fouls were reviewed and then overturned. That decision pushed Kelly down to 14th and out of the top 12 that advance.
Kelly opened with a 66.38 (217-9), before his 66.41. Last year, Kelly finished 14th at the NCAA Championships and was 10th at the NCAA Indoors in the weight throw in March.
Juniors Garrett O'Toole and William Paulson both advanced in the men's 1500. O'Toole's third heat was the fastest and it paid off for him as he gets through on time, the eighth fastest of the 48 at 3:49.12. He posted splits of 43.99, 1:02.33, 1:03.52 and 59.30. Paulson won the next heat, heat 4 at 3:50.65 to move on to Saturday's quarterfinal. Paulson put up splits of 48.45, 1:06.48, 1:00.94 and 54.79. Junior Noah Kauppila was seventh in heat 2 with a 3:51.92 and will not advance. The quarterfinal of the 1500 will be at 6:45 p.m., on Saturday.

 Senior Greg Leeper, the two-time Ivy League 400 hurdles champion ended his career in the Regionals. He finished sixth in heat 4 and 33rd overall at 53.57.

Junior Josh Freeman clocked 48.59 in the 400. He was seventh in heat 4 and finished 43rd overall. Freeman was the runner-up in the event at Ivy Heps.

In the final event of the night, senior William Bertrand narrowly missed advancing to Eugene. He posted his second fastest time of the season at 30:33.11 to finish 19th, seven spots

Tomorrow freshman Joey Daniels will be the lone Tiger on the track racing in the 110-meter hurdles at 5 p.m. Junior August Kiles and senior Ben Gaylord are both in the second flight of the pole vault while junior Mitchel Charles will be in flight 2 of the shot put.
