Eye on the Tigers
The Tigers are 2-0 and coming off of a 15-10 win at Virginia following a 19-3 win over Temple in the season opener. Senior Olivia Hompe has 12 points already with 10 goals and two assists. Junior Colby Chanenchuk and sophomore Allie Rogers add eight points apiece. Freshman Tess D'Orsi has contributed right away with six goals and one assist for seven points. Sophomore defender Alex Argo is the team leader in both caused turnovers and ground balls. She has five caused turnovers and six ground balls, and is second on the team in draw controls with four - right behind senior Ellie McNulty's five. Senior Ellie DeGarmo has a .658 save percentage, stopping 25 shots, along with a 6.50 GAA.
The Series
Princeton holds a 9-4 record in the all-time series with Loyola since the teams first met in 1989. The Tigers have won the last two meetings, including an 8-7 win in Baltimore last year and a 10-8 game here in Princeton in 2015. Loyola's last win was a 15-10 game on 2014.
Scouting the Greyhounds
Loyola comes to Princeton with an 0-2 record after falling to Johns Hopkins 12-8 in the season opener and dropping a 15-8 game to Towson this past Sunday. The offense is led by senior Cami Whiteford who has four goals and one assists for five points. Junior Sabrina Tabasso has three goals and one assist, while also having a team-best four ground balls. Junior Frankie Kamely and senior Katrina Geiger have three points apiece. Geiger and sophomore Taylor VanThof each have a team-high five draw control wins while senior defender Bailey Mathis leads the team in caused turnovers with five. The Greyhounds have used both senior Taylor Caldwell and sophomore Kady Glynn in goal. Caldwell got the start against Hopkins and has made seven saves on 22 shots in two games played. Glynn has allowed 12 goals on 15 shots.
