STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Princeton Tigers (7-3) ran by the Wagner Seahawks (2-8), 58-37, at the Spiro Sports Center on Sunday afternoon.
Â
Carlie Littlefield, Sydney Jordan and Leslie Robinson each scored 10 points to pace the Tigers' offense. The three also combined for 19 rebounds as Abby Meyers had three steals. Princeton allowed just 13 baskets and one three-pointer in the game while created 16 turnovers in the win.
Â
In front by two, Princeton raced out with 10 straight to push its advantage to 16-4 with 1:54 left in the first frame. During that 10-0 run, the Tigers held the Seahawks without a basket. After 10 minutes of action, Princeton led 16-5 while giving up just two buckets.
Â
Gabrielle Rush and Tia Weledji sank two three-pointers as the second quarter got underway to extend the Tigers' lead to 17 (22-5), their largest of the half. This time, the Seahawks went on a sprint, scoring the next eight points to close within nine (22-15) as the clock ticked near four minutes. The Seahawks registered the final four points of the stanza to set the halftime score at 24-17.
Â
Princeton rushed out with 8-of-9 points to open the third quarter to improve its lead to double-figures, 32-20, with 6:26 to go in the frame. Wagner remained in striking distance before Tigers ripped off a 10-0 jump over a five-minute stretch that went from the third quarter into the fourth.

Â
Head coach Courtney Banghart's squad makes the trip to the University of Florida to take part in the Gator Holiday Classic. The Tigers will take on Saint Joseph's on Wednesday before a contest vs. Chattanooga on Thursday. Both games tip-off at 2:30 p.m.
