VIDEO: Floyd Phox, Veteran Of Princeton Building Services, Joins Grandson For Coin Toss Before Opener
September 21, 2016 | Football
Floyd Phox was a valued member of the Princeton Building Services community for 25 years, and a resident of the Princeton community for most of his life. He used to peek in on games at the old Palmer Stadium, but he had a much better vantage point Saturday night for the Tiger season opener.
Head coach Bob Surace invited Mr. Phox to join his captains at midfield and perform the coin toss, a fitting role for a man who represented both sides of Community & Staff Day. It would have been a thrill regardless, but it was made even more special by the presence of Princeton's game captain that day.
It was his grandson — and Princeton's starting cornerback — Markus Phox.
