Makarewicz, Medley Victories Highlight Day 1 Of The Bruno Invitational

The Princeton men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed Day 1 of the Bruno Invitational Friday. The Tiger men got victories from Nathan Makarewicz, who scored 329.50 points to win the 1-meter diving competition, and the 400 medley relay. The quartet of Alex Lewis, Derek Cox, Ben Schafer, and Julian Mackrel took the victory in 3:17.86.
The Tiger women had their highlight performance in the 200 IM, as four Princeton swimmers reached the 'A' final. Sophomore Isabel Reis took second in 2:03.46, while freshman Christie Chong took third in 2:03.72. Senior Olivia Chan finished fifth in 2:04.41, while freshman Shaelyn Choi took eighth in 2:05.53.
Full results from Friday can be found here. Saturday's preliminary session will begin at 11 am, while the finals will start at 6 pm.
