Women's Hockey Announces Class of 2019

The Princeton women's coaching staff led by head coach Jeff Kampersal announces the four student-athletes that will join the team in September as the Class of 2019.
“We expect Kimiko, Steph, Karlie, and Keiko to contribute immediately on the ice,” Kampesal said. “They will bring energy and competitiveness to our program - they want to win. The returning players have already made them feel like family. The Class of 2019 is equally motivated to take advantage of all opportunities offered at the best academic institution in the world.”
Keiko DeClerck, 5-5, Forward, San Jose, Calif./Cranbrook Kingswood (Mich.)
DeClerck spent the 2014-15 season on the USA Hockey Girls Development U19 Team in Michigan. The team was the state runner-up in Michigan this past season. Prior to joining the USA team, DeClerck skated for Little Caesers from 2013-14, San Jose Jr. Sharks 2005-13 and also her high school team Cranbrook Kingswood in 2012-13. She participated in the 2011, 2013 and 2014 national camps.
While playing for Cranbook, DeClerck was named first-team all-state and was named MVP of the team. The Cranes' team captain also captained the San Jose Jr. Sharks and Little Caesers squads.
As a senior she scored 18 goals and 27 assists. In three seasons she totaled 173 points on 77 goals and 96 assists.
DeClerck was also a member of the field hockey and soccer teams at Cranbook Kingswood.
Karlie Lund, 5-10, Forward, Eden Prairie, Minn./The Blake School
Lund played five years of hockey at The Blake School. A three-time all-conference selection, Lund was a semifinalist for the 2014 Ms. Hockey trophy. As a sophomore she was named honorable mention all-state and followed that up with two all-state honors as a junior and senior. The Bears were state champions in 2013 and 2014 and both years, Lund was named to the all-tournament team. In 2015, as Lund was team captain, she helped to guide the Blake School to a second-place finish in the state. Her team awarded her with the MVP and the Hobey Baker Character Award as a junior. In five years she scored 140 goals and 140 assists. Of those 215 points, 67 came during her senior season.
During the summer, Lund plays for the Minnesota Ice Cats, a program she has been with since 2009. Additionally, she attended the USA Hockey 2013 and 2014 Development Camps.
Lund also lettered in lacrosse as a senior.
Kimiko Marinacci, 5-6, Defender, Ottawa, Ont./École Secondaire Publique Louis-Riel
Marinacci played hockey with both her high school team, Louis-Riel and with the Ottawa Lady Senators. A two-time MVP of the Louis-Riel Rebelles, the squad won the 2014 provincial high school championship, (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations). The Rebelles were semifinalists in 2013 and 2015. During her senior year, Marinacci had nine points on three goals and six assists and added 12 penalty minutes in 37 games. In her career she played in 75 games and totaled 17 points, including two-game winning goals and 14 PIMs.
She has spent the last three years with the Senators and was captain this past season. The Senators earned back-to-back playoff berths in the Provincial Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Individually, Marinacci was invited to the Team Ontario selection camp in 2015. She previously played for the Kanata Rangers (2009-11), Ottawa Sting (2007-09) and the Capital Crusaders (2006-07).
A four-sport athlete, Marinacci also lettered in soccer, basketball and softball. Her soccer team won the OFSSAA championship in 2015.
Stephanie Sucharda, 5-8, Defender, Mississauga, Ont./Mentor College
An assistant captain of the Canadian U18 National Team, Sucharda earned a silver medal at the 2015 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) U18 World Championship this past January in Buffalo, N.Y. She earned an invitation to the Canada U22/Development Team strength & conditioning camp, one year after participating in the Canada U18 strength & condition and selection camp.
Sucharda was captain of 2015 Team Ontario U18 team that con the silver medal at the Canada Winter Games. She was also on the Team Ontario U18 team in 2013-14 that won a gold medal at the U18 national championship.
Sucharda has spent the last three seasons playing for the Mississauga Junior Chiefs. A two-year assistant captain, Sucharda led the PWHL in points for a defender in 2014-15. The Chiefs were the 2014 Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) Provincial Champions and were the runners-up in 2013. Other team championships include the 2014 Two Nations College Prep Series Champions and the 2013 Stoney Creek University Showcase Champions, while earning the silver medal at the 2014 PWHL Final 8.
In 2014-15, Surcharda played in 32 games and scored 10 goals and 29 assists as a defender. For her career she totaled 81 points and 56 PIMS in 108 games played.
Prior to joining Mississauga, Sucharda played with the Etobicoke Dolphins (2011-12, 2008-09), Willowdale Red Wings (2009-11), West Mall Lightning (2006-08) and the Port Credit Storm (2001-06).
Surcharda also lettered in rugby, basketball and table tennis.
