It is only fitting after a standout Senior Weekend, Princeton women's basketball senior co-captain Nicole Hung collected Ivy League Player of the Week honors. It is the first weekly award for the guard and she shares the accolade with Penn’s Sydney Stipanovich.
In a year of resilience and resolve, Hung put together back-to-back team-leading performances last weekend to help the Orange and Black stay in contention for the Ivy League title. She averaged 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in her season-best performances.
Hung opened the weekend scoring a season-high 12 points off the bench, on 5-of-8 shooting with a pair of triples, and grabbed five rebounds, made two assists and two steals in 23 minutes of work in a 69-46 win over Cornell on Mar. 7.
She followed that up with 11 points, going 4-for-6 from the field and 2-for-2 from the line, adding five more boards, two assists and two blocks the next day versus Columbia in a 92-48 victory.
Hung and the Tigers (20-7, 11-2 Ivy) will conclude the regular season with Penn (21-6, 11-2 Ivy) on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Jadwin Gym in an Ivy championship battle.
