The Princeton University chapter of Uplifting Athletes will host its annual Lift for Life strength and skills competition Friday, May 3, at Princeton Stadium to raise funds to research a cure for Aplastic Anemia.

The chapter was established in 2010 in honor of All-Ivy running back Jordan Culbreath ’11, who overcame Aplastic Anemia to return to the gridiron for his senior year.

This marks the second consecutive spring that Princeton's chapter has hosted the event, which raises money to research a cure of the rare blood disease. Last spring, Princeton’s Uplifting Athletes chapter raised $11,000 for the 2011-12 season.  This spring, the Princeton football team is working to make the 2013 Lift for Life its biggest success yet.

“We hope everyone supports the Tigers as we show how the hard work we have put into our off-season workouts can be used to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life,” said rising senior Max Coale, Princeton's chapter president.

Each Princeton football player has his own player page where friends and family can pledge money that goes toward the team's fundraising goal of $15,000. Donations can be made online to a general Princeton fund here, and donations to individual players can be made here.

“Thank you to everyone who supports Uplifting Athletes” Coale said. “With your help, we can all make a positive change in the lives of those who have been affected by Aplastic Anemia. Together, we are stronger.”
