Box Score

Despite outscoring Cornell 15-2 in the second half, the Princeton sprint football team was unable to complete its second half rally, as the Tigers dropped a 22-15 decision to the Big Red in Ithaca, N.Y. Friday evening.

Cornell managed to take a 20-0 lead heading into halftime, but the Tigers (0-3) were undeterred and worked to claw their way back.

With 3:45 left in the third quarter, Joe Bush threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to John Wolfe to open Princeton's come-from-behind run.

Chris McCord then intercepted a Cornell Brendan Miller pass in the end zone a minute later, to disrupt the Big Red's response to Princeton breaking up their shutout.

The fourth quarter would open with a Cornell safety, adding to the Tigers' deficit, 22-7, but Princeton worked to find the end zone again.

Bush, who threw for 148 yards, would find an open Nicolas Lulli for a 25-yard touchdown pass. The Tigers then converted their two-point conversion with Bush connecting with Wolfe.

Wide receiver Lulli led the team with five carries for 66 yards, while running back Sean Conrad had a team-high 62 yards.

Nick Barnett rushed for 12 yards in his lone carry, but also had 5.5 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble on the defensive end.

Princeton returns home to host its next two games, beginning with Post on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. Franklin Pierce then comes to Princeton Stadium on Friday, Oct. 12 in the squad's final home game of the year.
