Glenn Michibata, an enormously well-liked and well-respected
member of the Princeton University Department of Athletics, has resigned as
head coach of the men's tennis team.
"We would like to thank Glenn for his tenure at Princeton,"
said Ford Family Director of Athletics Gary Walters. "Glenn has been a firm
believer in our mission of Education Through Athletics, and he has been a great
role model for the athletes who have played for him. We wish him nothing but
the best in the future."
Michibata had a 145-121 record with Princeton, and his teams
had winning Ivy League records in seven of his seasons. He coached three Ivy
League Players of the Year during his time at Princeton.
"I'd like to thank Gary for the opportunity," Michibata said.
"It's been a privilege to coach here. This place has had such a positive
impact on me and my family. I hope I've left a positive impact as well. I wish
the team and the University nothing but success moving forward."
A national search for his successor will be held.
