Princeton's men's basketball uniforms will get a new look this year while honoring the late Academic-Athletic Fellow Marvin Bressler.

A year after he came to Princeton to teach in 1963, Bressler began serving in an informal advisor role with the men's basketball team and was an inspiration to create the Academic-Athletic Fellows program that serves all Princeton teams. Bressler was an Academic-Athletic Fellow for men's basketball through the 2009-10 season before he passed away on July 7 at age 87.

The memorial patch, which will read "MARV" in white letters on a black oval, is the first for Princeton since the 2007-08 season, when the team honored Butch van Breda Kolff '45 with a similarly shaped patch that read "VBK."  Van Breda Kolff was the team's coach from 1962-67, guiding a Bill Bradley-led team to the 1965 Final Four. Van Breda Kolff passed away on Aug. 22, 2007 at age 84.

Perhaps the most noticeable change on the uniforms from 2009-10 to 2010-11 other than the memorial patch is the lettering and numbering on the white uniforms, which will be black with orange trim instead of the reverse last season. The white uniforms will be worn for home games and all home Friday/road Saturday Ivy League games, while the black uniforms will be worn for road games and all home Saturday/road Friday Ivy League games.
