PRINCETON, N.J. (4/7/10) - The Princeton women's track and field team will host the annual PYP meet on Saturday, April 10 at Weaver Stadium.

The Tigers have won the last two PYP meets. Last season, Princeton earned earned 88 points, just sneaking by second-place Penn with 84 points, while Yale scored 25 points. Penn last won the meet in 2007 and Yale in 2006.

Princeton won nine events last season and return five of eight individual champions.

Ashley Higginson won the steeplechase and qualified for the NCAA Regional with a time 13 seconds faster that than the qualifying time. Fellow distance runner Alex Banfich was first in the 1500 with a time of 4:37.78. Eileen Moran took top honors in the 100 with a time of 12.40.

In the throws, Emma Ruggiero was first in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.21 meters, while Thanithia Billings finished in first place in the shot put going 13.13 meters.

The meet will be the second of the day at Weaver Stadium, as the men's team host Penn, Rutgers and Villanova in a quad meet.
