The eighth-ranked Princeton Tigers, who will row on Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J., this weekend for the 2009 NCAA Championships, collected an array of postseason honors this week.
Four rowers earned All-Mid-Atlantic region first-team honors, while a fifth picked up second-team honors. Seniors Alison Fishman and Annie Gayman joined juniors Ariel Frost and Sara Hendershot on the first team, while sophomore Lauren Wilkinson earned second-team honors.
Sophomores Ashton Brown, Michaela Glaeser and Yuna Sakuma joined junior Phoebe White as Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) scholar-athletes for the 2009 rowing season.
Head coach Lori Dauphiny, who led Princeton to an 8-2 record and a bronze medal at Eastern Sprints, was named the CRCA Mid-Atlantic Head Coach of the Year. The honor will put Dauphiny on the ballot for national head coach of the year honor, which she won after leading the 2006 Princeton squad to an NCAA championship.
