Princeton open crew has been invited to every NCAA championship regatta since its inception in 1997, and the 2009 squad was not about to break that streak. Days after reaching the medal stand at the EAWRC championships, the Princeton open crew will send its V8+, 2v and V4 to the NCAA championship regatta at Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J., from May 29-31.

Princeton has had two championship boats in NCAA history. The most recent one was the 2006 first varsity, which won its grand final over California by more than six seconds. For more about that historic crew, read the TigerBlog account here. The 1997 Princeton 2V also won a gold medal.
