UNC built its lead up with single runs in the second and third thanks to a bases-loaded walk and a solo home run. The Tar Heels then added two unearned runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth on another solo home run.
Princeton’s lone run came in the seventh inning when Mulroy hit his second home run of the season. Mulroy was one of three Tigers to collect two hits in the game in addition to junior Jack Murphy and sophomore Greg Van Horn.
Sophomore David Palms allowed four runs, two earned, over four innings and took the loss. Junior Jon Broscious and freshman Ryan Makis each pitched two innings of relief.
The Tigers fell to 3-4 with the loss. Princeton visits North Carolina A&T tomorrow afternoon. Junior Langford Stuber is Princeton’s scheduled starter.
