Rain-Soaked Day 1 of IC4A/ECAC Track as Tigers Get in Three Events

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/16/14) - Rain dampened Day 1 of the IC4A and ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships today at Weaver Stadium. Two events that Tigers were competing in, the women's discus and the men's 10k, have been postponed.

Junior Eddie Owens finished fourth in the steeplechase, clocking an 8:52.78 in the second heat. Senior George Galasso was fifth in heat one at 9:10.08 and placed 16th overall.

Junior Sam Pons was the top Tiger in the 5k, finishing 11th out of 34 competitors with a 14:29.48.

It was a team effort in the women’s 5k as freshman Megan Curham rabbitted for sophomore Kathryn Fluehr. The two finished the race together at 16:32 to finish eighth and ninth, respectively, with Fluehr running a PR.
