Women's Track Opens 2013 Hosting Quad Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. (1/8/13) - The Princeton women's track team hosts Rutgers, St. Joseph's and St. John's in the third annual quad meet on Friday, Jan. 11 at Jadwin Gym.

Princeton won the quad meet in 2011 and 2012. Last year the Tigers scored 195 points, followed by St. John's with 119, Rutgers 108 and St. Joseph's 100.

The meet kicks off with the weight throw at 5 p.m.

Last year Imani Oliver '14 broke a 12-year Princeton record in the triple jump. Oliver landed at 12.44 meters (40-9.75), besting the previous record of 12.42 (40-9) set by Nicole Springer in 1990.

Eileen Moran '12 was a double winner, finishing first in both the 60- and the 200-meter dash with times of 7.71 and 25.18.

The Tigers would take first and second in five track events helping to load up the score with points. Alex Banfich '12 won the mile, with Jackie Nicholas '15 second; Cecilia Barowski '15 won the 500 with Kacie O’Neil '14 second; Greta Feldman '13 won the 800 with Andrea Keklak '15 taking second; Mel Newbery '13 won the 3000 with Theresa Devine '14 second, Kristin Smoot '14 won the 1000 with Alexis Mikaleian '13 second.

The Tigers had the top four pole vault, led by the champion Tory Worthen '13. Worthen cleared 3.86 (12-8) with classmate Lauren Tauscher following in second place at 3.66 (12). Seniors Lydia Arias and Bianca Reo finished in a third-place tie as both reached 3.35 (10-11.75).

Theresa Kennedy '14 finished in a first-place tie in the high jump. The 4x400 relay of Joie Hand, Jasmine Blocker, Vuong and Barowski was also victorious.

7:00pm - 500m
7:10pm - 60m-Timed Final (the top 2 runners from each team in fast section)
7:20pm - 800m
7:30pm - 1,000m
7:40pm - 200m
7:50pm – 3,000m
8:05pm - 4x400m
