Track Hosts Sam Howell Invite This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/1/09) – Princeton will host the Sam Howell Invitational this weekend April 3-4 at Weaver Track and Field Stadium.  

A total of 16 teams will compete in the invitational along with Princeton. They include: Binghamton, Bowdoin, Colgate, Columbia, Cortland, Dartmouth, Manhattan, Marist, Monmouth, Rutgers, St. John’s, Southern Connecticut State, Syracuse, Vermont, Yale and the Shore Athletic Club.

The invitational kicks off on Friday at 4 p.m., with the women’s hammer throw. A full schedule of events can be found below.

Last season, the Tigers won seven events, including a sweep of the 1,500-meter run by Liz Bergold and Ben White during the second day’s competition. James O’Toole took top honors in Friday’s 1500, and Tom Zozokos earned a win in the 400-meter hurdles. Justin Frick took first in the high jump, while Isabell von Loga won the shot put.
