Unwilling to succumb its second consecutive Ivy League loss, the Princeton women's basketball team employed a second half rally to defeat Dartmouth 68-60 Saturday evening in Hanover, N.H. With the win, the Tigers remain atop the Ivy standings at 19-6, 10-1 Ivy.

Seniors Megan Bowen and Niveen Rasheed powered the Tiger offense with 21 points apiece. Bowen's play in the paint was critical in the first half, as she dropped 12 points to keep Princeton within range during the period en route to a career high.

Rasheed gutted out an all-around dominate second half, tallying 13 points, eight boards and three critical steals during that span. The guard finished with 10 rebounds to record her 11th double-double of the year.

While the first half never saw Dartmouth's lead go higher than six points, the Tigers were unable to regain control of the game following their 6-4 advantage at 17:33.

After trailing 16-10 with 14 to play, Princeton continuously worked to take control of the scoreboard. Each time they would fall short and the Big Green managed to keep at least a possession differential.

A Kate Miller triple with 3:49 left in the half opened a 7-2 run to make it a one-point game, 30-29, but the Big Green bench responded with an aptly called time out to stymie Princeton's run. The home team closed out the half riding a 6-4 run to lead 36-33 at the break. This was the second time in as many games the Tigers were trailing at halftime.

Four Rasheed points and a pair of Bowen free throws lifted Princeton to its first lead since the first half, 48-46 with 11:14 left in regulation.

Dartmouth evened the score once more, before a Rasheed steal at midcourt and layin put the Tigers up for good, 52-48 at 8:40.

The Big Green would come within four down the stretch, but the Princeton closed the game with a 4-0 run to seal the win.

Junior Kristen Helmstetter also scored in double figures with 10 points. She added six boards and a team-high three assists.

The Tigers return to Jadwin Gym next weekend for their final home games of the year. Princeton tackles Yale on Mar. 8, before hosting Brown the next night.
