Rising senior Lisa Boyce, who won three individual Ivy League championships and earned All-America honors in the 100 free, will return to the 'B' finals in the 50 back Thursday night at the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championships & World Championship Trials, held in Indianapolis.
Boyce swam her 50 prelim in 29.48, an impressive drop from her time of 30.24 that she swam in Charlotte earlier this year. That time was 17th best of the 40 qualifiers, and a scratch from ninth-place finisher Megan Romano opened up one place in the 'B' final.
She dropped that time even more in the final, where she finished 16th overall in 29.23.
Boyce has won seven individual Ivy League championships during her Princeton career, including the 2011, 2012 and 2013 100 back titles (there isn't a 50 back event at the Ivy League championships). She also won both the 50 and 100 free in each of the last two conference meets, and she led Princeton to its 11th Ivy championship over the last 14 years this past season.
