Hatcher's Five Help Princeton Past GW 16-6 In Southern Division Finale
Ashley Hatcher scored five goals to lead Princeton to a 16-6 win over George Washington at DeNunzio Pool Sunday afternoon in the final game of the regular season.
Princeton improved to 26-1 overall and completed a perfect run through the CWPA Southern Division regular season. The ninth-ranked Tigers wll now travel to Harvard next weekend for the Southern Division championships, which will begin Saturday with games against Harvard and GWU.
"We had a good game today," Princeton head coach Luis Nicolao said. "It was a nice way to end the regular season. Now we're looking forward to the playoffs."
Hatcher had an assist and two steals in addition to her five goals. Pippa Temple had three goals, while Hannah Lapkin and Morgan Hallock scored twice each.
Princeton started slowly, and it was scoreless until the final minute of the first quarter, when the Tigers finally got on the board. It was 6-3 at the half before the Tigers sprinted away in the third quarter.
