PRINCETON, N.J. (3/18/13) - In-state rivals Princeton and Rutgers meet in a women's lacrosse match-up on Tuesday, March 19. The game will take place on RU Turf Field at the Stadium Complex at 3 p.m.

Eye on the Tigers
The Tigers are 3-2 on the season with their two losses both to teams ranked in the top 10. This past Saturday Princeton met No. 9 Virginia and despite a strong second-half showing, fell 9-7. Sophomore Erin McMunn is the team's leading goal scorer with 12 tallies. She adds five assists for 17 points. Freshman Anya Gersoff and junior Sarah Lloyd have 13 points apiece. Gersoff has nine goals and four assists, while Lloyd has a team-high eight assists and five goals. Lloyd leads the Tigers in draw controls with 16 and ground balls with 12. Seniors Charlotte Davis and Jaci Gassaway chip in eight points apiece. Sophomore Annie Woehling and junior Caroline Franke have shared time in goal this season. Franke earned her first career start at Virginia and has a 10.08 goals against average and a .471 save percentage. Woehling has a 9.64 GAA and a .326 save percentage, having started the first four games of the season.

The Series
Princeton owns a 13-4-1 edge in the all-time series with Rutgrs, which began in 1975. If recent history is any indication the game will be tight. The last two games have been decided in overtime, and the last four were all decided by one goal. The Scarlet Knights took an 11-10 game in double overtime at Class of 1952 Stadium last year, Princeton won 9-8 in one overtime at Rutgers in 2011, Rutgers took a 12-11 game in 2010 and Princeton won 9-8 in 2009.

Scouting the Scarlet Knights
Rutgers is on a five-game winning streak and is 6-1 overall. The Scarlet Knights most recently defeated Hofstra 13-6. A notable win on the schedule is a 6-5 win over Penn on March 6. Rutgers has the second-best scoring defense in the nation, holding teams to just 5.5 goals per game. Katrina Martinelli leads the team offensively with 24 points on 18 goals and ix assists. Megan Clements and Amanda Trendell are also scoring threats with 17 and 15 points, respectively. Jenny Vlahos and Clements are the team leaders at the circle with each having 10+ draw controls. Holly DiMuro has a team-best 11 caused turnovers and 16 ground balls. Lily Kalata has started in goal in all seven games. She has a 5.69 GAA and a .526 save percentage, stopping 41 of 78 shots on goal.
