The top-ranked Princeton men's squash team took care of business Wednesday night at the Jadwin Squash Courts. The Tigers came out of their finals break with a 9-0 sweep of the 12th-ranked Penn Quakers to remain undefeated.

Princeton swept all nine matches against the Quakers to move to 7-0 on the season, 3-0 in the Ivy League. The Tigers, building off a thrilling sweep by the top-ranked women over No. 3 Penn earlier in the evening, sprinted out to a 4-0 lead in the first shift. Sophomore Taylor Tutrone dropped only seven points in his win at the No. 6 spot, while Dylan Ward defeated his former Chestnut Hill Academy teammate Augie Ward 4-0 at the No. 4 spot.

The second shift would follow in similar fashion, including a sweep at the top spot by senior co-captain Todd Harrity. There was early drama at the No. 7 spot, as David Hoffman needed to play extra points in the first game of his 3-0 match over Tyler Odell. After a 12-10 win, Hoffman took control of the match and earned wins of 11-3 and 11-7.

This will be the Tigers’ final tune-up before heading to New Haven, Conn., to take on the Yale Bulldogs Saturday at noon. Both Princeton and Yale are undefeated in Ivy play right now, and those two schools have combined to win each of the last six Ivy League titles (they also shared the 2006 title in a three-way split with Harvard).

Thus, the winner of the Princeton-Yale regular season match has won the Ivy League title seven straight years, and the home team has won this match three of the last four years. Last season, Princeton ended a two-year skid with an 8-1 home victory over the Bulldogs.
