Awards Continue for Smith with ECAC All-Star Accolades
CENTERVILLE, Mass. (5/29/14) - Senior defender Colleen Smith has been named to the ECAC Division I Women's Lacrosse All-Star Team, it was announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Smith continues to collect postseason honors. In the past weeks she has been named second-team All-America, first-team all-region and first-team All-Ivy League. Co-captain of the 2014 Tigers that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and claimed a share of the Ivy League championship, Smith anchored the defense. She finished second on team in caused turnovers with 14 and added 17 draw controls and 13 ground balls. She scored her first career points this season, with a goal and three assists, while also earning career-bests of four caused turnovers and five draw controls both against ranked teams. Smith and the Princeton defense limited opponents to just 9.53 goals per game to finish the season 12-7 and ranked No. 16 in the final coaches poll of the season.
The voting for the 2014 ECAC Division I Women’s Lacrosse All-Star teams and major award winners was completed by the head coaches within the ECAC Division I Women’s Lacrosse membership.
