Women's Lacrosse Back in National Poll
PRINCETON, N.J. (4/22/14) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team is back in the national poll this week. The Tigers come in at No. 19 in both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll and Inside Lacrosse Brine Media Poll.
The Tigers have been receiving votes in both polls for the last six weeks, after dropping out of the poll on March 10 as the team started the season 1-3. Since that time, Princeton has gone 9-1. As impressive as those nine wins are, the lone loss - an 8-7 loss to No. 2 Maryland, holding the Terps to its fewest goals scored since March 2013 - stands on its own as well.
Last Wednesday, Princeton clinched the No. 1 seed in the Ivy League Touranment and at least a share of the Ivy League title with a 9-5 win over No. 10 Penn, the second ranked team Princeton defeated this year. The Tigers also took down No. 6 Virginia 15-13. Princeton followed up with a 12-10 win over Dartmouth in the Ivy League finale on Saturday.
Princeton has one final test before the Ivy League Tournament begins on May 2. The Tigers travel to No. 8 Penn State on Saturday, April 26.
