PRINCETON, N.J. (4/14/14) - The 2014 Ivy League title is on the line as the Princeton women's lacrosse team hosts Dartmouth in the league finale on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. With a win the Tigers would earn its first Ivy League title since 2006. A win would also clinch home field for the Ivy League Tournament.

EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton gained control of the Ivy League standings after a 9-5 win over No. 10 Penn on Wednesday night here at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium. The Tigers are 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the Ivy League. A win today would clinch the Ivy League title and hosting rights for the Ivy League Tournament.

Dispersed scoring as been one of the keys to Princeton’s success this season. Three players have reached the 30-point plateau, and five others have 20 or more points. Junior Erin McMunn sits atop the scoring column with 38 points on 27 goals and 11 assists. Classmate Erin Slifer has 20 goals and 16 assists for 36 points, and freshman Olivia Hompe has 31 points on a team-high 17 assists and 14 goals. Sophomore Alexandra Bruno, freshman Anna Doherty, senior Sarah Lloyd, sophomore Anya Gersoff and senior Mary-Kate Sivilli are next in line in scoring. The Tigers’ stingy defense has been another key factor this season. The defense forced Penn into 13 turnovers and allowed just 13 shots on Wednesday night, and held No. 2 Maryland to its fewest goals scored since March 2013 one week prior. Before they can reach the cage the opposition is met by sophomore Liz Bannantine and senior Colleen Smith. The pair have 17 and 11 caused turnovers respectively. Senior defender Liz Cutting leads the team in ground balls with 19. Behind them is junior Annie Woehling. Woehling has an 8-1 record in goal with a 7.74 goals against average and a .479 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Princeton holds a 23-18 lead in the all-time series with Dartmouth, which began in 1980. The teams met twice last year with Princeton winning a 15-13 game in Hanover before Dartmouth answered with an 11-10 double overtime win in the Ivy League Tournament.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth comes to Princeton with a 5-7 overall record and 2-3 mark in the Ivy League. The Big Green defeated Columbia and Brown, and lost to Yale, Penn and Cornell in double overtime. They will face Harvard next Friday in their final Ivy League game. Dartmouth has lost its last three games, which include the Cornell and Penn games, along with a 9-8 loss to Hofstra this past Monday in the home finale.

Jaclyn Leto leads the team in goals and points with 31 goals and six assists for 37 points. Liz Calby is two points back and has a team-best 13 assists and 22 tallies for 35 points. Sarah Bryne has reached 30+ points as well with 27 goals and four assists. Danielle Lisovicz, Lindsey Allard and Courtney Weisse are all in double figures as well. In the center circle, Bryne has won 38 draw controls with Leto and Allard backing up with 25 and 22, respectively. Lauren Malorano has a team-high 11 caused turnovers while the ground ball leader is the team’s netminder Kristen Giovanniello. Giovanniello has 29 ground balls and has played every minute in goal. She has a 10.23 GAA and a .454 save percentage.
