PRINCETON, N.J. (10/4/13) - Princeton women's lacrosse assistant coach Jenn Cook was inducted into the Marple Newtown High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Cook earned 12 varsity letters while attending Marple Newtown as a three-sport athlete. On the soccer team she was a four-time all-Central and all-Delco selection, while being named all-state as a senior. A three-time MVP and co-cptain, Cook capped her career with a school record (boys or girls) 67 career goals. During the winter Cook was co-captain of the swim team. She was a four-time all-Central honoree and was a district qualifier all four years while being named all-Delco honorable mention once. In the spring, she captained yet another team, women's lacrosse. As co-captain Cook was twice named the team's MVP and was a four-time all-Central and all-Delco selection.

A two-time Tewaaraton nominee at the University of North Carolina, Cook earned three All-America honors by IWLCA. She was named first-team all-region and all-ACC three times each. Named the 2007 Inside Lacrosse Defender of the Year, she holds the school career records in ground balls (200) and games played (76), as well as draw controls in a season (51). During her career, Cook and the Tar Heels made three NCAA quarterfinal tournament appearances and was ranked in the top 12 all four years, including top-five spots her junior and senior years.

In her first season at Princeton, in 2013, Cook helped guide the team to its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance. The Tigers went 10-7 including a perfect 7-0 record at home, and were the runner-up in the Ivy League with a 6-1 record, with that lone loss coming in overtime.

Prior to joining the Tigers, Cook spent the four seasons coaching at her alma mater North Carolina, and was an assistant coach at Drexel in 2008.

Interestingly enough she is the third person with Princeton women's lacrosse ties to be inducted at Marple Newtown. She joins faculty fellow and former volunteer assistant coach Patty Kennedy, wife of Princeton men's soccer coach Jim Barlow, and All-America Rachael Becker '03, whose sister is married to Jenn's brother.
