PRINCETON, N.J. (2/27/13) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team looks to build off its home-opening win when it hits the road for the first time this season, taking on No. 11/10 Georgetown on Friday, March 1 at 4 p.m.

Eye on the Tigers
Princeton is coming off of a 10-5 win over Villanova on Saturday that kicked off the 2013 season. Freshman Alexndra Bruno led the team offensively with two goals and one assist. Freshmen Anya Gersoff and Stephanie Paloscio had two goals apiece, and senior Charlotte Davis had one goal and one assist. Senior defender Caroline Rehfuss was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week after holding Nova's leading scorer without a goal. Rehfuss has one assist, four caused turnovers, three ground balls and one draw control. Junior Sarah Lloyd won four draw controls and sophomore Erin McMunn won two. Senior Sam Ellis and sophomore Annie Woehling were also credited with three ground balls. Gersoff was second behind Rehfuss with two caused turnovers. Woehling made seven saves on 12 shots for a .583 save percentage and a 5.00 goals against average.

The Series
Princeton leads the all-time series with Georgetown 11-6. The Tigers have won the last three meetings including a 12-11 on March 27, 2011. The Hoyas had a similar ranking during that meeting, as they were No. 12, while Princeton was ranked No. 13. The last time the teams played in D.C., then-No. 19 Princeton took a 15-14 overtime game over then-ranked No. 9 Georgetown.

Scouting the Hoyas
Georgetown is 2-0 with a 16-12 win over Delaware and a 13-10 win over Towson. The team is ranked No. 11 in the IWLCA poll and No. 10 by Inside Lacrosse. The Hoyas are averaging 14.5 goals per game and allow 11 gpg. They've won 52.7% off their draw controls and are 38.5% on free-position attempts. Sophomore Caroline Tarzian leads the team in scoring with five goals and three assists for eight points. Junior Kelyn Freedman has also scored five goals and adds one assist for six points. Freedman is the team's leader on the draw circle, winning five for her team. Junior Hannah Franklin contributes six points as well with four goals and two assists. Senior Ashley Hunter leads the team in caused turnovers with three, while sophomore Adrianne Devina and senior Sophia Thomas have two each. Thomas is second on the team in draw controls with four and also has two ground balls. Sophomore defender Casey McGowan has a team-best five ground balls, while Devine, Franklin and junior defender MJ Coyle have four apiece. In goal, junior Barb Black has a 11.00 goals against average and a .290 save percentage, making nine saves on 31 shots.
