Lauren Simone Farrell '02 has been selected as part of the Class of 2012 to be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame induction will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Mercer Oaks Country Club in Princeton Junction.

Simone was the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player when she guided the Tigers to the national title in 2002. A native of Delran, N.J., she was named the Inside Lacrosse Attacker of the Year, was first-team All-America and made the Tewaaraton Watch List for the second time of her career. During her career she was named first-team All-Ivy League three times and second-team All-America twice. Simone was team captain as a junior and a senior when Princeton won back-to-back Ivy League Championships. She was also a member of the 2000 NCAA All-Tournament Team when Princeton was the national runner-up. Simone was named to the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse 25th Anniversary Team in 2006.

"This is a fitting tribute to Lauren, one of the most special people I have had the privilege to coach at Princeton," head coach Chris Sailer said. "Little did I know when I recruited her out of nearby Delran High School what an amazing and accomplished player she would become for the Tigers, and what an impact she would make with her leadership, humility, friendship and loyalty. A dynamic and creative attacker, Lauren helped led our team to three final fours and the 2002 National Championship, but what I appreciated most about her was the life she brought to the field every day, the obvious love she had for the game, her teammates and her coaches, and her steadfast belief in what we could accomplish together. Congratulations Lauren on this well-deserved honor."
