PRINCETON, N.J. (11/25/13) - The Princeton women's hockey team hosts travel partner, No. 5 Quinnipiac, in a mid-week game on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m., at Hobey Baker Rink.

Princeton had a five-game unbeaten streak come to an end last weekend against No. 8 Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Junior Ashley Holt has made two appearances and boasts a 1.21 GAA and .952 save percentage.

Princeton owns a 10-7-2 lead in the all-time series since the team’s first met in 2001, four years prior to Quinnipiac joining the ECAC. The Bobcats have won the last six meetings that dates back to Feb. 2011 in the ECAC Quarterfinals. In the last meeting at Hobey Baker Rink, on Dec. 7, 2012, Quinnipiac won a one-goal game, 3-2.

Quinnipiac had an eight-game unbeaten streak come to an end last weekend with a 3-0 loss to then-ranked No. 8 Clarkson. It marked the team’s second loss of the season, the other was to Harvard, 4-2. Quinnipiac is 10-2-4 overall and ranked No. 5 nationally. With a 3-2-3 record in the ECAC, the team has just one more point than Princeton, 9-8 in the league standings. Quinnipiac has the fourth-best scoring defense, limiting teams to 1.19 goals per game and score 2.69 gpg (13th). The power-play unit is 10th converting 12 of 64 and the penalty kill is 12th allowing seven power-play goals.

Senior Kelly Babstock leads the Bobcats in scoring with 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists. Half of her goals have come on the power play. Freshman Emma Woods and sophomore Nicole Connery each have 13 points. Junior transfer Shiann Darkangelo chips in 11 points on seven goals and four assists. These four players have combined for five of the team’s 10 game winners. Eleven other players have two or more points. Junior Chelsea Laden is the team’s starting goaltender with a 10-2-4 record. She has started in all but one game and has played nearly 950 minutes with five shutouts, a 1.07 GAA and a .947 save percentage. Her numbers rank third and fourth, respectively, nationally.
