HANOVER, N.H. (10/5/13) - The Ivy League co-Player of the Week Cameron Porter delivered the game-winning goal off a header as the Princeton men's soccer team defeated Dartmouth, 2-1 in the Ivy League opener.

It marked Princeton's first win in Hanover since 2003, and Dartmouth's first loss on the season (4-1-4).

Dartmouth took the lead in the 40' minute when Alex Adelabu scored of the team's first shot on goal. Sten Stray-Gunderson sent a through ball up the right flank and Adelabu collected it and fired it into the far side of the goal.

The Tigers matched the goal in the 60' minute when sophomore Thomas Sanner was able to put away a Patrick O'Neil rebound. Princeton had been working the ball around in its attacking third before Nico Hurtado delivered a ball into the box. It bounced off a Dartmouth defender and to O'Neil who was centered on the goal. He fired a shot that was stopped but not collected by keeper Stefan Cleveland and Sanner took advantage.

Senior Billy McGuinness started the Tigers next scoring play as he found Joe Saitta in front of the Princeton bench. Saitta looked up to see the field and launched a ball towards the goal. Porter used his height advantage to head the ball into the open net as Cleveland came too far out in the 67' minute.

The Big Green thought they had tied the game up in the 78' minute but they failed to see the linesman with his flag up. The goal was disallowed as the official signalled offsides and Princeton keeper Seth MacMillan took the goal kick.

MacMillan earned the win without having to make a save. Cleveland made three saves and allowed two for Dartmouth.

Princeton controlled possession for the majority of the game and took 12 shots to Dartmouth's two. Corner kicks were 2-1 in favor of Dartmouth.

The Tigers improve to 3-5 overall and 1-0 in the Ivy League. They have a short turnaround as they host Drexel on Tuesday night on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
