PRINCETON, N.J. (2/14/13) - The Princeton women's hockey team will spend the final two weekends of the regular-season on the road fighting for a playoff position in the ECAC Hockey tournament. The Tigers make the long trip to the North Country to take on No. 6 Clarkson on Friday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., and St. Lawrence on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m.

Eye on the Tigers
Princeton is just one place out of playoff contention, sitting one point back from Colgate. The Tigers are 4-12-2 in the league with 9-14-2 overall. The Tigers hit a snag last weekend, falling to Colgate in a battle for that No. 8 spot, while also losing to No. 4 Cornell. Corey Stearns and Kelly Cooke lead the Tigers offensively in their final seasons in the Orange & Black. Stearns has 27 points on 23 assists and four goals. Cooke leads the team in goals with 13 and adds nine assists for 22 points. She has been a force on special teams with three power-play and two short-handed tallies. Junior Sally Butler has seven goals and assists each and sophomore Brianna Leahy is right behind with 13 points. Senior Alex Kinney and junior Olivia Mucha are also in double digits in scoring. Freshman Kimberly Newell has started in all but three games and has a .911 save percentage and a 3.07 goals against average. Sophomore Ashley Holt provides back up, playing in eight games this season, with an .861 save percentage and a 3.35 GAA.

Scouting the Golden Knights
Clarkson's record of 23-7 has placed the squad at No. 7 in the latest USCHO national poll. The Golden Knights are 15-3 in the ECAC standings to sit in first place with Cornell. Junior Jamie Lee Rattray sits atop the scoring column with 42 points on 17 goals and 25 assists. Classmate Carly Mercer contributes 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points. Erin Ambrose leads the league's blueliners and rookies in scoring with 29 points, 25 of which came via assist. Senior Danielle Skirrow and junior Brittany Styner add 26 points each. Junior Erica Howe has a 22-7 record in net with a .933 save percentage and a 1.66 GAA.
