Women's Hockey Tabbed 7th in Preseason Poll

ALBANY, N.Y. (9/17/12) - The Princeton women's hockey team was picked to finish seventh in the 2012-13 ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches' Poll that was released on Monday, Sept. 17.

Princeton finished seventh in the league last season with a .500 record of 10-10-2 and made its 11th straight playoff appearance. Overall, the Tigers went 12-15-4. Princeton had an incredible run after the December break losing just one in eight games. Highlighting the season were wins over No. 8 Northeastern (5-3), No. 10 Harvard (3-0), No. 10 Dartmouth (2-1) and sweeping Yale and Brown by a combined 16-2 score, and four shutouts.

Three-time defending champion Cornell was picked to repeat.

Princeton opens the 2012-13 campaign on Oct. 19 at RIT, which won the DIII national championship last year and has elevated to the DI level.
