Lydia Rudnick Named Ivy League Volleyball Player Of The Week
Senior Lydia Rudnick, the league leader in both kills and points, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after leading Princeton to consecutive road wins at Harvard and Dartmouth last weekend.
Rudnick, a two-time first-team All-Ivy outside hitter, was at her best in a comeback win over Harvard Friday night. She recorded 25 kills, 14 digs and five blocks to lead Princeton to a hard-fought five-set victory. The following night, in a 3-0 win at Dartmouth, she posted 12 kills and 13 digs to keep Princeton unbeaten in league play.
Rudnick leads all Ivies in kills (4.15) and points (4.73) per
set. She averaged 4.6 kills, 3.4 digs and added eight blocks over the weekend.
It is her fourth Ivy League Player of the Week honor, and her fifth career weekly honor (she earned a Rookie award in 2009.
Rudnick will lead Princeton into the team's first Ivy home weekend when the Tigers host Columbia Friday night at 7 pm. Princeton currently shares first place in the league with Yale, while Columbia is one match back.
