After the 2013 season yielded another Ivy League championship trophy and NCAA Elite Eight appearance, the Princeton field hockey team will welcome five student-athletes to join the Tigers for the 2014 campaign.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Class of 2018,” said head coach Kristen Holmes-Winn. “They are a group of young women who thrive in competitive environments and have proven that they have the will and determination to rise to both the academic and athletic challenges inherent in the Princeton experience."

"They separated themselves during the recruiting process by their close alignment to the values of our program and a clear passion for all things Tiger Field Hockey. We are excited to see their talents unfold in the years to come,” Holmes-Winn added.

Princeton field hockey will announce each member of the Class of 2018 individually, so be sure to tune into GoPrincetonTigers.com over the next two weeks to meet the newest additions to the program.

The fifth member of the incoming class to be introduced is striker Lexi Quirk from Needham, Mass.

A four-year varsity standout for Needham High School, Quirk was named MIP in 2010 while picking up MVP honors in 2012 and 2013. The Bay State's overall MVP during the 2013 campaign, Quirk also earned praise as a first-team all-star in each of those years.

Excelling as a multi-sport student-athlete, Quirk was also a member of the ice hockey, track & field and lacrosse teams, garnering praise on the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic squads.

Holmes-Winn on Quirk
"Lexi does not quit. She is strong, fast and plays the game with an urgency and desperation that propels her learning and development. Lexi is the type of kid who does not waste a moment—she is completely and utterly committed to getting the very most of herself everyday. We believe her drive, adaptability and personal habits will allow her to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level. In addition to her athletic talents, we are equally as excited for the positive energy and enthusiasm she will bring to Tiger Field Hockey."
