Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America Teams Release

The honors continue to come in for Princeton field hockey’s Teresa Benvenuti, Michelle Cesan and Julia Reinprecht with the Tiger trio earning 2013 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America honors, it was announced Monday by the NFHCA. Cesan and Reinprecht were both named to the first team, while Benvenuti was a third team selection.

Senior Cesan was named to the first team for the first time in her career, capping off her Princeton tenure as a four-time All-America. She earned third team honors as a freshman and placed on the second team twice. The Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year and All-Ivy and All-Region First Team selection led the Tigers with 10 goals and an Ivy-best 10 assists for 30 points on the year.

A two-time first teamer, Reinprecht also concludes her career as a four-time All-America. The 2013 Ivy Defensive Player of the Year was named to the second team as a freshman and sophomore. The four-time All-Ivy and All-Region First Team honoree concluded the season with seven goals, an assist and contributed to three shutouts.

Both Cesan and Reinprecht are members of the U.S. Senior National Team and will extend their field hockey careers beyond the collegiate ranks.

Benvenuti collected her first career All-America honor to add to her pair All-Ivy and All-Region First Team accolades. The sophomore tallied eight goals and eight assists for 24 points on the year.

The Tigers went 14-5, 7-0 Ivy and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals after winning the program’s 22nd Ivy League title.
