Princeton field hockey senior Michelle Cesan has been named Ivy League Player of the Week for the second time in as many weeks and freshman Cat Caro earned Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this year, it was announced Tuesday.

Cesan concluded her Tiger regular season career with a five-point performance to help guide Princeton to a 5-1 victory over Penn on Nov. 9 and the outright Ivy League title. She scored the game-winner in the 16th minute breaking up a 1-1 tie, before adding an assist and a final goal before the end of regulation.

She has scored eight goals over the last seven games, including three game-winners spanning the last four matches. Cesan has recorded at least a point in 11 games this year, all resulting Tiger in victories. The tri-captain has team-highs in goals (10), assists (9) and points (29) over 17 starts.

Caro extended her scoring streak six consecutive contests with her opening goal versus Penn. She picked up a rebound off a penalty corner to send in her eighth goal of the year in the third minute. The striker also has three assists over her 17 appearances and when recording at least a point in a match Princeton is 8-0.

Caro shared Rookie of the Week honors with Harvard’s Marissa Balleza.

The eighth-ranked Tigers (13-4, 7-0 Ivy) now prepare for Penn State on Saturday in the NCAA tournament first round at 2 p.m. in College Park, Md.
