Following her three-goal weekend performance, Princeton field hockey freshman Cat Caro was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the first time in her Tiger career.
Caro opened up her seven-point weekend at Harvard notching an insurance goal in the second half. She stole the ball outside the hash marks, drove into the circle and put it away from the left side. In the first half, the striker recorded her first career assist. She found Julia Reinprecht to dish the game-winning assist in a 3-1 victory on Oct. 26.
The next day at then-No. 15 Albany, Caro’s offensive prowess connected on a pair of first half goals in the Tigers’ 5-3 victory. She put Princeton up 2-0 in the 12th minute and added the game-winner in the 24th minute on a penalty corner redirect.
An immediate impact player, Caro continues to put together an impressive freshman campaign. After coming in off the bench in the squad’s first two matches, she has started the last 12 and tallied five goals and three assists on the year.
The ninth-ranked Tigers (10-4, 5-0 Ivy) conclude the home slate this weekend with Cornell on Saturday at 12 noon and Rider on Sunday at 1 p.m.
