Coming off her career performance versus Columbia, Princeton field hockey junior Cassidy Arner was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the first time in her career. She shares the weekly accolade with Penn’s Ali Savage.
Since moving into the starting lineup this season, Arner has been a constant contributor transitioning from the backline to the midfield over the first nine games. In her new role in a more attacking position, Arner led the charge versus the Lions on Oct. 4 by connecting 24 seconds into the game with the eventual game-winner. She added a second goal in the 23rd minute, recording her first career multi-goal performance.
Arner and the ninth-ranked Tigers (6-3, 3-0 Ivy) hit the road for a big weekend at No. 1 Maryland (11-0) on Friday, Oct. 11 and Delaware (8-3) two days later.
