This Week for the Tigers: The No. 9 Princeton field hockey team (7-4, 3-0 Ivy) will look to remain undefeated in Ivy League play, resuming action this weekend at Brown (5-6, 1-2 Ivy) on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 12 noon.

 Last Time Out:
• The Tigers’ suffered its fourth loss of the season to then-No. 1 Maryland, 3-1, on Oct. 11.
• Maryland employed a midgame rally after both sides played over 33 scoreless minutes. Maddie Copeland scored Princeton’s lone goal in the second half.
• Two days later Princeton earned a 2-1 victory over Delaware.
Michelle Cesan put the Tigers up 1-0 in the 11th minute, but the Blue Hens managed to tie things up in the 42nd minute.
• An Amanda Bird goal off a penalty corner in the 63rd minute lifted the Tigers to victory. 

On Deck: The Tigers close out their five-game road swing with a final weekend trip to Harvard (Oct. 26) and No. 12 Albany (Oct. 27).

Scouting Brown:
• Brown (5-6, 1-2 Ivy) is coming off a 2-1 overtime upset over then-No. 14 Louisville on Oct. 13.
• On the year, opponents are outshooting the Bears 63-33 and hold a 33-23 scoring advantage.
• Meghan O’Donnell leads the offense with seven goals and three assists for 17 points.
• The Bears have relied on Shannon McSweeney for all 11 games in the cage. She’s tallied 106 saves, a .763 saves percentage, 33 goals against and a 2.98 goals against average. 

All-Time vs. Brown:
• Princeton owns the all-time series versus Brown, 27-8-1.
• The Tigers have only lost once at home to the Bears, going 16-1, while tallying a 10-7-1 mark in Providence, R.I. 
• In its last meeting, Princeton defeated Brown 6-0 on Oct. 13, 2012.

Servin’ Em Up:
• Senior Michelle Cesan had both a goal and an assist on Oct. 13 at Delaware.
• The assist was the sixth of the season for the midfielder, making her the team-leader in assists.
• Over the first 11 games, she also has three goals for 12 points on the season.

Trending Now: The Tigers hold advantages over opponents in: scoring, 29-19, shots, 188-94, and penalty corners, 91-40, on the year.

A Closer Look at the Losses:
• All four losses have been to teams ranked currently ranked in the top-five.
• The Tigers are 1-4 versus ranked opponents on the year.
• Princeton has not lost to an unranked opponent since 2011.

Extending Ivy Win Streak:
• The Tigers enter Saturday’s meeting riding a 16-game Ivy League winning streak.
• Princeton has gone 7-0 in league play seven times over 11th-season head coach Kristen Holmes-Winn’s tenure.

The Ivy Race:
• The top spot in the Ivy League is still being held by both Penn and Princeton at 3-0.
• The two squads will faceoff in the regular season finale on Nov. 9.

Multi-Goal Games:
Cassidy Arner, Teresa Benvenuti and Allison Evans each have recorded multi-goal scoring games.
• Benvenuti had a hat trick at Dartmouth on Sept. 21 and a pair of goals versus Fairfield on Sept. 7.
• Arner had her first career multi-score effort versus Columbia on Oct. 4.
• Evans has scored two goals in games versus Dartmouth and Columbia.

Picking Up Points:
• Following her two-goal effort versus Columbia on Oct. 4, Allison Evans leads the offense with 17 points.
• She has a team-best seven goals over 11 games, along with three assists.

The National Scene:
• The Tigers remained tabbed No. 9 in this week’s national top-20 poll.
• Princeton is also ranked No. 9 in this week’s RPI poll. It is the only Ivy team in the top-30.
• As a team, the Tigers are tabbed in the top-20 in the following national statistical categories:
• No. 13 - penalty corners per game (8.27)
• No. 20 - assists per game (2.27) 

The Captains: Seniors Kelsey Byrne, Michelle Cesan and Julia Reinprecht will serve as tri-captains in 2013.

Beautiful Bedford:
• Bedford, a state-of-the-art turf facility, features an optimal playing surface in artificial turf and a built-in watering system.
• There are currently 1,572 seats, with room for additional temporary seating.

Williamson Joins Coaching Staff:
David Williamson joined the Tiger coaching staff as the team’s goalkeeping coach in 2013.
• He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Ulster.
• He previously worked at Monmouth, Kent State, the Irish Hockey and U.S. Field Hockey associations.
