After helping guide the Princeton field hockey team to a 3-2
win versus North Carolina to capture the program's first national championship,
senior Katie Reinprecht was named the 2012 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I
Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year, it was announced Monday.
The unanimous 2012 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year
and four-time All-Ivy and All-Region First Team selection, Reinprecht most
recently was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team for her performance at the
Final Four.
On the year, the midfielder led the Tigers with 19 assists and
added nine goals for 37 points. Reinprecht concludes her career with 156
points, fourth-best in program history, and 50 career assists for second
all-time.
Reinprecht and the Tigers went 21-1 on the year, including
posting a perfect 7-0 record in Ivy League play. Princeton defeated 11
nationally ranked teams in 2012 en route to winning the Ivy League's first
field hockey national title.
