Megan Griffith
Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Megan Griffith will begin her fifth year with the women’s basketball program in 2014-15. Griffith was announced as an assistant coach on May 30, 2012 after spending two seasons as the Tigers’ director of basketball operations.

In her new role with the program, Griffith will serve as the team’s recruiting coordinator and work primarily with the squad's perimeter players. 

Last season, Princeton posted its fifth-straight 20-win season (21-9, 11-3 Ivy), garnering its fifth-consecutive (sixth overall) postseason berth. Eventually advancing to the second round of the WNIT, several Tigers garnered individual accolades, including first-team All-Ivy honoree Blake Dietrick '15.

In 2012-13, the Tigers won their fourth-successive outright Ivy League title behind a 22-7 overall and 13-1 Ivy record. Under Griffith’s tutelage, Lauren Polansky ‘13 was named the Ivy Defensive Player of the Year for the third-straight season.

Griffith is no stranger to the Ivy League as a 2007 graduate of Columbia University and a four-year letterwinner for the women’s basketball team. She captained the Lions for three seasons and was named All-Ivy League in 2006 and 2007. Griffith is just the eighth Lion to score over 1,000 points during her career, averaging 10.1 points per game. During her junior year, Griffth ranked 22nd in the nation in assists, averaging 5.5 per game, while chipping in 15.2 points per game. She was twice named Academic All-Ivy and was a member of the Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Team two straight years.

Following graduation, Griffith played three years of professional ball in Europe. She joined FoA Nice Basketball in Forssa, Finland during the 2007-08 season and was named the team’s MVP at the end of the season. In 2008-09, Griffith led the Espoo Basket Team to the National Finnish Championship and the Finnish Cup Championship titles. During the year she was also a youth basketball coach for Honka Basketball Club.

This past year, Griffith was a member of the Celeritas-Donar Basketball team in Groningen, Netherlands. In addition she was named a U20 Dames 1 assistant coach and U18 Northern Selection Team assistant coach, while working as a youth coach and clinic director for Celeritas-Donar.

Griffith founded Back to Basics Basketball in 2008, an organization developed to teach basketball skills, while provide training and mentoring in her hometown.

A native of King of Prussia, Pa., Griffith graduated from Columbia with a degree in economics in 2007.
