For the third consecutive week a Princeton baseball player has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week with outfielder Paul Tupper earning his first career honor, it was announced Tuesday. This is the first time in league history a team has collected three straight Rookie of the Week awards to start the season.

Tupper is coming off a .571 (8-for-14) weekend at UNC-Greensboro. He tallied four RBI, three runs and his first career double, along with posting a .643 slugging percentage and a .562 on-base percentage.

In the series finale, Tupper went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI, a run and a walk to help lift the Tigers to an 11-1 victory over the Spartans.

In nine starts Tupper leads the offense, batting .432 (16-for-37) with six RBI, six runs, a double and the team’s only home run on the year.

Tupper and his seven-game hitting streak will be put on hold as today’s game at North Carolina has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Princeton (3-7) also saw time changes to its next two games and will now play Duke on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Durham, N.C., before traveling to Annapolis, Md. to face Maine at 11 a.m.
