The Princeton women's volleyball team will happily return to Dillon Gym Friday night to complete the first half of its 2013 Ivy League schedule. After a challenging four-match road trip, the Tigers will host Dartmouth and Harvard this weekend with hopes of getting back above .500 in Ivy League play.

Princeton dropped a pair of road matches last weekend, including a 3-2 thriller at Brown when Princeton saved four match balls before ultimately falling 16-14 in the fifth. The Tigers followed with a 3-1 loss at reigning champion Yale; the Tigers became the first Ivy team to hold a lead on Yale, but the Bulldogs took the final three sets to move to 5-0 in the league.

The Tigers will look to get above .500 at the midway point of their season against two teams they swept last season. On Friday (7 pm, Ivy League Digital Network), Princeton will take on Dartmouth, which is 1-4 in Ivy play. The Big Green has been one of the top defensive teams in the league, ranking second in digs and third in blocks. Senior Elisa Scudder leads the league with 1.22 blocks per set, while Princeton junior Nicole Kincade is second with 1.1 blocks per set.

Harvard, which enters the weekend tied for second place, comes to Dillon Saturday (5 pm, Ivy League Digital Network) with hopes of avenging a tight 3-2 home loss last season. The Crimson have the Ivy League leader in service aces in freshman Corinne Bain, who averages .62 per set.

Princeton continues to play a youthful roster, with five underclassmen often on the court. Sophomore Kendall Peterkin leads the Ivy League in both kills (3.6) and points (4.2), while freshman Cara Mattaliano ranks third in both categories. Freshman Lauren Miller has also moved into the Top 3 in assists (8.0).

The junior duo of Tiana Woolridge and  Kincade continue to bring stability in the middle. Woolridge ranks second in the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.352), while Kincade continues to be one of the best in the league on the block.
